Dear Manhattan College Accounting Majors,
The New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA) generously supports college students through its Excellence in Accounting Scholarships of Moynihan Scholarship Fund. This year's application is online at https://app.smarterselect.com/programs/80259-The-Moynihan-Scholarship-Fund. The application is easier than in prior years because only those applicants for the Suffolk Chapter scholarship need to write an essay and obtain a letter of recommendation. The scholarship is awarded for up to $2,500 a year and is an honor to put on your resume. In prior years. Manhattan College students received between one and three scholarships a year.
All students applying for the NYSSCPA Excellence need fill out the application with the following requirements by June 26, 2022:
- Fill out the online application at https://app.smarterselect.com/programs/80259-The-Moynihan-Scholarship-Fund.
- Declare that you are a resident of New York state within the application.
- Declare that you are a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
- Declare that you are an accounting major and either a junior, senior or graduate student.
- Send your Student Aid Report (derived from the FAFSA) to scholarship@moynihanfund.org.
- Have the registrar send a copy of your transcript to scholarship@moynihanfund.org.
The application asks whether you are a FREE student member of the NYSSCPA. It will look bad on the application if you are not, so please join the NYSSCPA as a FREE student member at https://www.nysscpa.org/membership/become-a-member/membership-application#sthash.qCjw9r4z.dpbs.
